Why MiNigh?

Dorothy and Hanson met at a language exchange meeting in a cafe called Cafe de Six in Madrid. They did not know each other. It was simply a blind meeting. As they interacted more, they realized that there is a lack of trustworthy, reliable, unanimous and instantaneous meeting applications which will provide a seamless, instant meeting without revealing one's identity while providing a potential match. There are a lot of applications and websites but they all need a huge profile setup, pictures, and months of texting to meet a real person. However, to get a good friend to find a good match, or to find a life partner one’s personality and emotional state is far more important than merely a photoshopped look. More than often the onboarding takes a long time, one needs to download and install an application, and most importantly lacks local payment options.

MiNigh has a solution to this problem. Verify who you are, complete a short onboarding, and you’re ready to post your first Wish (a desire to meet someone) and meet someone instantly — entirely inside the MiNigh web application, no separate app install and no third-party messenger required.

What is the meaning of MiNigh?

MiNigh is a product of ARIDRISHTI, a company established in Spain, Madrid. In the Spanish language, Mi means “My” and “Nigh” is a mediaeval word meaning “Neighbour”. Hence, MiNigh means “My Neighbour”.

How do I verify my account?

You can verify with a one-time code sent to your email, or sign in directly with your Google or Apple account — both skip you straight past the emailed code, since those providers already confirm your email address for us. Either way, you’ll then set a 4-digit passcode of your own, used on every later login as your device-level security measure — not a password, since you don’t need one.

I requested an email verification code, how long do I have to enter it?

You should receive the code within a few seconds. It stays valid for 180 seconds (3 minutes). If it expires or you don’t receive it, request a new code and check your email address for a typo — and if it keeps failing, use Contact Us so we can help.

Wait, no password at all? Correct — this is one of the measures we use to stop automated bot signups, while giving you the experience of a native app without installing anything. Once verified, your device is remembered for future automatic logins; if our systems ever suspect unusual activity on your account, you may be asked to verify again.

I have verified and logged in, now what?

The things you should do after onboarding:

1. Go to Settings.

2. Update your location (allow GPS access if you can).

Point to ponder: If you do not update your GPS location, you can still post Wishes, but only paid Wishes. Updating your location unlocks both paid and unpaid Wishes. Your exact GPS position is never shown to other users — MiNigh shows other users only an approximate location, randomised within a small radius, to protect your privacy.

3. Set your username.

4. Set your 4-digit passcode.

5. Complete your profile — gender, age, your preferred partner’s age range, zodiac sign, personality type, and emotional state. You can take MiNigh’s own Personality and Emotional tests in the app, or self-report a personality type you obtained elsewhere (including the official MBTI® assessment — see the note on trademarks below).

Point to ponder: taking these tests inside MiNigh gives your profile a verified badge, which other users find more trustworthy than a self-reported result.

What do I need to do to post my Wish?

Once your username, profile, passcode, personality type, emotional state, and location are set, you only need to choose a passphrase and its answer. You can pick from MiNigh’s suggestions or make up your own.

Illustration – challenge and passphrase: This system of challenge words and passphrases was widely used by the Roman Army, and you’re probably familiar with ‘Open Sesame’. Since you’re meeting someone you don’t yet know, the challenge word and its correct passphrase is how you confirm you’ve found each other. During WWII, the Allied forces’ challenge word was flash and the passphrase was thunder.

I’ve posted my first paid Wish, now what?

Once you post a paid Wish, anyone who sees it can pay to match with you — and you’ll see the same PAY option on other paid Wishes. As soon as someone pays, you’re matched.

I posted an unpaid Wish, now what?

Others can WHISPER on your unpaid Wish. Once someone whispers, you’ll get a PAY option to accept; once you pay, they get a PAY option too, and once they pay, you’re matched.

How many Wishes/Whispers can I post?

Up to five unpaid and five paid posts within any 24-hour period.

When do my posts expire?

There is no expiry time on a post. You can cancel it at any time before it results in a match; a cancellation fee may apply once a match/payment has already happened, shown to you before you confirm.

How many Whispers can a single unpaid Wish receive?

A maximum of ten.

How does MiNigh find my best match?

We combine several factors — zodiac sign, personality type, emotional state, and compatibility — into an overall match score, shown as a star rating.

Can I reschedule a meetup?

Yes, bilaterally, through your in-app chat with your matched partner. After the meetup, mark it as rescheduled when giving feedback.

How does chat work once I’m matched, and are there limits?

Once both sides of a match have paid, a private in-app chat opens directly in MiNigh — no external messenger needed. Each conversation has its own quota, shown in the chat window: up to 100 text messages, 5 photo attachments, 5 voice notes, and 30 minutes of in-app calling, shared between both of you. If you meet the same person again for a later paid meetup, these limits refresh for that new meetup.

Why do you keep my meeting partner’s identity unknown, when other apps show social profiles?

Good question. According to Pew Research, 41% of Americans have experienced online harassment, often via social media — stalking, name-calling, physical or sexual threats among them. Even accounting for zodiac, personality, and emotional-state matching, there are cultural, religious, political, economic, or personal factors that might make a match unsuitable, and revealing identity too early raises that risk. Staying anonymous until you choose otherwise protects you from post-meetup harassment.

How do I change the language?

MiNigh detects your browser’s language automatically on first use; you can change it at any time from Settings.

How do referral and cashback earnings work?

ARIDRISHTI believes in an equitable society, and MiNigh reflects that — cashback and referral earnings for real activity on the platform are not a scam, they’re the norm here.

How do I get a referral link?

Three ways:

— Complete five meetups, and your referral link unlocks automatically.

— If you have more than 1,000 followers on any social media platform, contact MiNigh, choose “affiliate” as the issue type, and share your profile link. Once approved, you’ll be notified by email and can find “My Referral Link” in the app.

— Post a video about MiNigh on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or similar, and contact MiNigh the same way with the link.

Where can I see my earnings?

Go to “My Money” for a full breakdown of your wallet balance, per currency.

When can I withdraw my money?

Once your wallet balance in a given currency reaches that currency’s minimum withdrawal amount (currently 20 EUR or the local-currency equivalent, shown to you in the withdrawal screen), you can withdraw from “My Money”. Before you confirm, MiNigh shows you the exact tax withholding/VAT and any processing fee that applies for your country and the withdrawal method you choose (bank transfer, card, PayPal, Wise, bKash, and others, depending on your country). Withdrawing also requires your tax information to be verified once, in Settings > Tax Information.

What is Host Verification, and how do I host an Event?

To host an in-person or online Event, first complete Host Verification — a short identity check (a live photo capture, to confirm you’re a real person) and, unless MiNigh is currently offering free Host Registration, a one-time registration fee. Once verified, you can publish an Event, and you’ll be asked to accept a Host Agreement covering the fees and tax rules that apply to you as a host (see “About & Legal” in Settings for the full document).

What if I want a break from MiNigh, or want to leave for good?

Settings offers two options. Deactivate hides your profile temporarily — log back in any time to pick up right where you left off, with nothing lost. Delete is permanent: your profile disappears from MiNigh immediately and you can’t log back in with the same credentials, though, as explained in our Privacy Policy, some payment/tax records are kept for the period the law requires, separately from your visible profile.

Can a support agent or AI help me if I get stuck?

Yes — MiNigh’s in-app support chat can answer common questions instantly using an AI assistant, and a real MiNigh team member can take over the conversation at any time if you need one.

My email has been hacked, how do I get back into my account?

Even with a hacked email, an attacker still needs your 4-digit passcode to access your account. If you’ve set a backup email in Settings, you can also use that to recover access. To remove a compromised email from your account, contact MiNigh.

I was banned, how do I get it removed?

The only reason MiNigh bans an account is verified reports of anti-social behaviour — and if that’s happened, we’re sorry, but we don’t want that behaviour on our platform. You’ll see the reason for your ban if you try to log in.

I want to complain about a match’s behaviour, how do I do that?

Use the Contact Us form and select ‘complaint’ as the issue type. We take every complaint seriously; attaching screenshots or other evidence helps us act on it. Depending on severity, the individual may be warned or their account may be blocked.

I can’t find my city in the list

Use the Contact Us form and let us know the country and city you’d like added. The MiNigh team will add it within 48 hours.

There are two cities with the same name, which one should I choose?

Your city name is followed by its State/Province/District/Comunidad, for example: Burgos-Castellón and Burgos-Castilla la Mancha are two different cities.

What can get my account banned?

MiNigh treats people as inherently good, but sometimes people fall short of that, and there are consequences. Here are some examples, though not an exhaustive list:

1. Missing a meetup two (02) times in a row, if reported.

2. Behaving inappropriately two (02) times in a row, if reported.

3. Contacting another MiNigh user without their consent, if reported.

4. Contacting a MiNigh user you met but didn’t get along with, if reported.

5. Using derogatory, disrespectful, or offensive language two (02) times in a row, if reported.

6. Posting an inappropriate link, offensive words, your mobile/telephone number, or a social media ID in a Wish/Whisper/Event post, if we or another user notice.

7. Repeatedly filing a chargeback for a payment that was genuinely fulfilled.

Can MiNigh help if I need to raise a legal complaint about another user?

If, after meeting someone and sharing a way to contact you, you’re harassed or pursued despite blocking them, first follow the laws where you live. If you need screenshots of your MiNigh messages as evidence, we’re happy to help — use Contact Us.

Can I sign in with Google or Apple instead of an email code?

Yes, where enabled for your account — look for the “Continue with Google” / “Continue with Apple” options on the verification screen. Everything downstream (profile, passcode, matching) works exactly the same either way.

Does MiNigh use trademarked personality tests like MBTI®?

MiNigh’s Personality Test is our own — independently developed, with our own questions, scoring, and result names. It uses a 16-category framework that may feel familiar if you know the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) system, but it is not the official MBTI® assessment, and MiNigh is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Myers & Briggs Foundation or The Myers-Briggs Company. If you’ve taken the official MBTI® assessment elsewhere, you may self-report that result instead — MiNigh does not verify the accuracy of a self-reported result.
